본명 Pietro di Cristoforo Vannucci (1450, Città della Pieve – 1523, Fontignano)
약 20~30 년간 이탈리아에서 가장 영향력있고 알려진 화가였으며, 피렌체와 페루지아에 활동적인 공방을 운영했다.
움브리아 지방 특유의 부드러운 형식을 통해 피에로 델라 프란체스카의 빛과 안드레아 델 베로키오의 선을 사용하여 빛과 기념비적인 형상을 조화시켰다.
